Graphic art is big in the East End of London. Many artists and illustrators are now accessing affordable ways to reproduce their work as prints to distribute their creativity to a wider audience. Hurrah! Warhol would be proud.Over the last 5 years, however, we have seen a lot of our artists move to the other side of the A12 to find, affordable space to continue their practice. We are therefore pleased to bring them back to Haggerston to showcase their newest works at the Proud Archivist! From 26th March to 11th May 2015, you will see some of our best artists,illustrators and designers producing graphic art prints from the EAST END PRINTS collection. Running for 6 weeks, the 100 framed print show will be one not to miss, featuring brand new screenprints, lino cuts, gold leaf and originals from the following artists and collectives:
Philip Sheffield, Rocket 68, Designers Nursery, Will Clarke, James Brown, El Famoso, Amelia's Magazine, Alfred & Wilde, Malissa Brown, Dieter Braun, Oscar Francis and Jason Ratliff.
'We have been supporting emerging artists and illustrators onto print since 2010 and this is a great opportunity to show some of the best talent we have on print from the archive as well as some brand new pieces commissioned for the space. The concept of making art affordable and accessible to everyone is very much our thinking and we hope you enjoy the curated selection for this event!
