We’ve got to stay at the top of our games, getting our hustle on, circulating from opening to opening, pumping out them Insta stories. Keep that content flowing, work it on the click-bait treadmill, grasp the calls outs, mail-outs, pay-outs and remain a PLAYER.

Duckin’ and Divin’ is a show of three artists who use humour to address operating within the post-Brexit, post-Austerity, attention economy. On the brink of BURN OUT in an energy crisis, but determined to keep going...

Bios:

Lana Locke is an artist practising in installation, sculpture, video and painting. She is interested in the idea of the 'feral' - between the wild and the civilised – and how it feeds into social, material and feminist concerns. She has had solo exhibitions at LUNGLEY Gallery (2019 and 2020), Liddicoat & Goldhill project space (2018), DOLPH Projects, (2016) and Schwartz Gallery (2014). She has exhibited in group exhibitions at Hales Gallery (2022), National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts, Taiwan (2021), OOF Gallery (2021), Kingston Museum (2019), MOCA Taipei, Taiwan (2018), the Nunnery Gallery (2018), Block 336 (2015) and Bloomberg New Contemporaries (2013 and 2016). She is an Associate Lecturer in Fine at Camberwell College of Arts, and studied her PhD and her MA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts. Jordan McKenzie Moves between painting, sculpture, performance and installation actively using his late diagnosis of ADHD as a methodology, forging (neuro) diverse connections between the banal and the tragic, the satirical and the political, the overlooked and under-represented. McKenzie has had solo exhibitions at LUVA Gallery (2019) Freud Museum (2015) KASA Gallery, Istanbul (2014) Yorkshire Sculpture Park (2013) Coleman Project Space (2013) Arnolfini Gallery (2012) Vitrine Gallery (2012) DOLL Gallery, Switzerland (2010) Grace Space, New York (2008) Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead (2005). He has exhibited in group shows at FRISE, Hamburg (2022) Yorkshire Sculpture Park (2022) PADA Gallery, Lisbon (2020) Winns Gallery (2014) Tate Britain (2012) Courtauld Gallery (2011). He is a senior lecturer at University of the Arts, Chelsea and lead artist for Young Visual Artist Group, Barbican Centre, London. Janette Parris is an artist who investigates the contemporary urban experience, using narrative, humour and popular formats, including soap opera, stand-up comedy, musical theatre, cartoons, comics and animation. Parris has exhibited widely nationally and internationally for twenty five years including TATE, The New Art Gallery Walsall, ICA, Kunsthaus Zürich, Hayward Gallery Touring, Art on the Underground, Royal Academy of Arts, was one of six lead contemporary artists selected for Museums at Night 2014, and whose work could be seen in the recent site-specific exhibition 'Everyday Heroes' at the Southbank Centre and on Southend High Street, for the Focal Point Gallery’s annual Bridge Commission. Parris was one of 46 artists to be selected for the forthcoming London Open 2022 at the Whitechapel Gallery and will also be exhibiting in May 2022 at the Ludwig Museum Budapest in the exhibition Emplotment. Parris is the founder of ‘Arch’ an established comic which was included in the largest UK comics exhibition in the British Library “Comics Unmasked”.
