How do you feel when you are travelling? This two-part exhibition in the Gibberd Gallery and the Harvey Centre confronts visitors with big questions about where we are and where we’re going. Listen out for the Drive Time radio show!
About
To the thousands of people passing through the Harvey Centre daily, two cars on the ground floor may seem to have taken a wrong turn, as if GPS has led them up the garden path.
Drive time radio can be heard in the shopping centre and in the Gibberd Gallery, connecting passers-by and dedicated art audiences. A genre in flux, it refers to an era when listeners were united in transit and is a platform for participation from local voices.
Samuel Padfield's intervention in the town centre explores travel as a state of disassociation, and creates a route to Harlow's legacy of social space coupled with public art.
