The First Solo Show by Lucy Smallbone, a recent graduate from the Slade School of Fine Art, 'Drinks by the Pool' is on at the Space Station Gallery from 16th March-6th April.
About
'Drinks by the Pool' presents Lucy Smallbone's most recent series of work that stems from her travels to Chernobyl in Ukraine. She depicts modern landscapes made up of two distinct themes, idealised swimming pools and burning fires. The Landscapes are beautiful but distorted by vivd colours and strong brush marks. They question the part that memory and the mind can play in altering your view of a space.
