QUAD presents Doug Fishbone’s Leisure Land Golf, a fully playable 10 hole mini-golf course, designed by artists: John Akomfrah, Yara El-Sherbini, Doug Fishbone, Ellie Harrison, Candice Jacobs, Hetain Patel, Lindsay Seers, Yinka Shonibare MBE, Ines & Eyal Weizman and Reactor. Fishbone’s course invited the artists to respond to ‘The Leisure Principle’, where consumer satisfaction is prioritised at all costs.  Each hole can be read as an individual artwork, but by playing a round and immersing oneself in the game, players experience at times a disturbing sense of a world misshapen by our consumer habits and desires. Also accompanying the project is Sunscreen, which features 40 digital artworks.

Doug Fishbone’s Leisure Land Golf was originally commissioned by EM15 for the 56th Venice Biennale in 2015. EM15 is an East Midlands partnership between New Art Exchange, QUAD, One Thoresby Street, and Beacon Art Project with support from Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham.
