Flying in from Berlin, Nick Flatt and Paul Punk are set to take England by storm at their debut London Show at BSMT Space with incredible photorealism painting and wildstyle graff writing.
About
BSMT Space is proud to announce the arrival of the visceral, visual artist Nick Flatt along with old-school graff artist Paul Punk aka Punkone
Flying in from Berlin, although originally from Texas, Flatt’s work focuses on photorealism and has gained a wide reputation for his paintings and his eye-catching installations.
Voted among the top 20 photorealistic artists by Juxtapoz magazine!
“ We know exactly who our oppressors are; their vanity paints a large, luxury bullseye on their backs. The only problem is, rather than despise those symbols of conspicuous consumption, we've learned to desire them." -Nick Flatt
Punkone grew up in Berlin, started spraying walls from the young age of 12 and founded the DHR crew in 1996. His brilliant wildstyle lettering and political views mesh seamlessly with Flatts hyper realistic pieces and the pair have been painting together for almost 2 years.
Flatt interrogates and questions the ‘American Dream’ ideal, and draws a razor-sharp contrast between the illusory world of advertising, its hollow promises and the reality we inhabit.
His profound visual style mocks commercial advertising and responds in defiance, aiming to reflect the world for what it is, not what it is sold to be.
Flatt, confidently invites audiences to witness and understand the cheap tricks of advertising and how it has influenced our desires and aspirations. His work mocks the style of high-gloss schemes and turns them on their heads!
We couldn’t be happier to host an artist with ideals that resonate so deeply with our own.
This will be exciting, insightful and truly astounding!
Please join us in welcoming the incredible Nick Flatt and Paul Punk on the 2nd of June at their Private Viewing.
