‘Dog Days’ is the second solo show of new work by painter Ally McIntyre to be held at Jealous. This exhibition follows the huge success from her first solo exhibition ‘Moon Dazed’ at Jealous in November 2015, and ‘The Sun Popped’ at CnB Gallery in July earlier this year.

This highly anticipated show will feature a selection of new and previously un-exhibited works, fresh from the artists studio. This show will also include Ally’s newly released second limited edition print with Jealous, ‘Good Boy’.

‘As a recipient of the HIX Award and the Jealous Prize, Goldsmiths MA Ally McIntyre has already been understood as an exciting and emerging talent.’

With a bold use of colour and confident mark making, Ally McIntyre’s new large scale works continue to explore alternative perspectives of our cultural hierarchical structures, where importance is inferred to the unconsidered. Using an already well developed language, McIntyre also reinvents her subjects through unconventional pairings of mixed media, styles and playful combinations of dream-like colour and a formidable command of line.

Ally McIntyre is a Canadian artist currently based in London, UK. After graduating in Painting and Sculpture from University of Alberta in 2013 she exhibited in several exhibitions including at Latitude53, NEXTFEST Emerging Artists Festival, and the Works international Art and Design Festival with a major sculptural installation in Edmonton’s City Hall. She then completed the MA Fine Art course at Goldsmiths University of London. In 2014, she and Gabriel Molina, a Chelsea College of Art graduate, collaborated on a 440 ft mural for her hometown. She was awarded the Jealous Prize 2014/2015 and HIX Award 2015. Recent exhibitions include solo shows at Jealous and CnB Gallery. Art Fairs include Moniker Art Fair, The Original Print Fair at the Royal Academy, The London Art Fair and Start Art Fair at the Saatchi Gallery. McIntyre’s print edition ‘Ferdinand’ forms part of the V&A Permanent Print Collection.

Established in 2008, Jealous is a Fine Art Screenprint Studio and Publisher, with Galleries in Shoreditch and Crouch End. We are known for our collaborative approach, working with many established artists, emerging MA graduates and illustrators producing high quality limited edition prints.

Our diverse educational programme includes working with primary schools on site specific art projects whilst the Jealous Prize invites MA’s from London’s art colleges to make an all expenses edition with Jealous. These editions are then shown at the many art fairs we attend and form part of the V&A’s permanent print

Our recent projects include publishing Charming Baker’s new editions with Paul Stolper Gallery to coincide with his S2 Sotheby’s Mayfair solo show. We have worked with street artist Ben Eine and The Big Issue, designing three collectable covers to celebrate their 200 millionth copy and created editions for their commemorative issue whilst hosting a televised event in our Shoreditch space with founder Lord John Bird. We have worked with Gemma Peppé, the force behind Art on A Postcard, a project raising desperately needed funds for the Hepatitis C Trust, publishing charity editions and as a result, presented 'The Best Of Art on a Postcard 2016' show in our Shoreditich space with David Shrigley, Gavin Turk, Ray Richardson, The Connor Bros, amongst many others.

Jealous editions can be found in The British Museum and The Victoria and Albert Museum’s permanent collections.
