An exhibition of contemporary ink and acrylic drawings by Sevcan Yuksel Henshall explores ideas and emotions through the use of lines. The drawings demonstrate a strong contrast between dark and light. Her visits to Morden Hall Park played a vital role in the formation of her pieces.
About
Sevcan Yuksel Henshall is a self taught artist who explores ideas and emotions through the use of lines. She places a strong emphasis on the contrast between dark and light and as such prefers the subtly of using only two colours. She uses a range of mediums in her work, often mixing them to create desired effects.
Her collection of ink drawings focuses on the chiaroscuro of tree branches, barks, roots and leaves. Her regular visits to Morden Hall Park played a vital role in the formation of her pieces. Sevcan sheds light on the value of trees and uses the lines within them to demonstrate the interconnected nature of life.
