Darshan Singh Bhuller's latest dance theatre work is inspired by the life and work of the 17th century master painter, Caravaggio.
Caravaggio: Exile and Death takes the audience on one man's search for forgiveness and redemption, following a life fascinated with youth and sexuality, violence, solitude and love. Scarred by imprisonment and the Catholic Church's dismissal of his works, Caravaggio lived a painful and dramatic life. Combining highly physical choreography with stunning projections and a beautiful soundtrack, Bhuller has created a show that depicts the tempestuous story of Caravaggio's life and art.
Darshan Singh Bhuller was a longstanding member of the world-renowned London Contemporary Dance Theatre from 1979 to 1994, before going on to become an award winning choreographer and filmmaker.
