Join us in Edinburgh for Jonny Hannah's latest exhibition of prints, paintings and cut-outs, 'Darktown Chartbusters'.
About
Jonny Hannah has spent months trawling through the leftover 45s, LPs & 78s from the Mermaid Café Jukebox in sunny Darktown to bring an exhibition of their Chartbusters; hot wax that was once in the Darktown Top 100, from the obvious to the painfully obscure. Hank Williams will be rubbing shoulders with Noël Coward and Rube Bloom & His Bayou Boys, in a cornucopia of hand-painted covers that are sure to burn your eyes & etch into your brain, in true Darktown style.
Accompanying the vinyl will be a set of brand new screen-printed posters, found in the back room of Darktown's Starlight Hotel, from gigs that never were, or were cancelled last minute, including Gene Vincent, an evening of spoken word by Arthur Rimbaud and the Fleet Foxes.
And if all that wasn't enough, Jonny will build on the success of his mix CD, 'Songs from The Mermaid Café Jukebox Vol.1', with a brand new Random Spectacular mix-tape, 'Darktown Chartbusters Vol.1'. Get a copy while you can...
So, something for everyone, even Marga Llergo fans...
