DARK WAVE, a monumental installation by internationally exhibited artist Dr Sian- Kate Mooney addressing unsettling themes of racism, violence, fear and social cleansing, takes up residence for the summer at Elements Gallery London

About

With poignant timing,  Friday 1st JULY sees the unveiling of DARK WAVE by internationally exhibited artist,  Dr Sian- Kate Mooney.  A monumental installation addressing themes of racism, violence, fear, and social cleansing.

Piercing the vertical plain both for visitors to the exterior urban courtyard and simitanously disrupting the site lines of the visitors  to the interior gallery of Lubomirov-Angus- Hughes.

Mooney's installation takes up residence for the summer at Elements Gallery London, the city's first dedicated space to outdoor art, instigated by curator Rebecca Feiner via a crowdfunder.

With a supporting program of innovative events unfolding in three phases over the residency under the titles Roof, Soap, Cloth.  Artist Dr Sian- Kate Mooney will be taking us on a journey from the dark, to the celebratory, from a summer courtyard party featuring Dark Wave music, to workshops, where you can learn ancient art of soap making. The public engagement program aims to both challenge and physically embody the unsettling themes of the exhibition.
