We are both passionate about using recycled materials to create art. While we have different approaches and inspirations, our common aim is to make something challenging and provocative
About
We live in a world surrounded by choice. Jane is interested in exploring what happens to the creative process when we take away some of that choice. Her collages are inspired by artistic traditions born of scarcity and thrift. Each collage has been created using old clothes otherwise intended for waste or disposal. She describes the process as ‘painting with textiles’.
Kathryn is drawn to vintage photography and imagery. Having worked in magazines for many years, she now takes an anthropological eye to the moral codes on the pages and seeks to poke fun at the patriarchal posturing of yesteryear. She is currently juxtaposing strong black and white images and text with bright colours to make pieces that seek to raise a smile.
