Annika Reed is interested in life’s seeming absurdity. The absurd may make itself known at any moment and this is what she tries to describe in her work. Reed records her daily experiences mindful of the idea that life is irrational, incongruous and illogical. However with this new body of work, Reed has taken the opposite approach. Overwhelmed by the current state of the world, Reed has looked to nature, not only for calming aesthetics but practical application. To counteract the bombardment of absurdity she has turned to plants that are remedies to the contemporary state of anxiety.
