Event map

Crunch is a group show with a focus on inclusivity, diversity, and acceptance, aiming to foster dialogue between art, artists and public.

About

Crunch returns for 2024, at the end of March at Fiery Bird, Woking!

The Idea

‘Crunch!’ - the sound that happens when things are pushed or come together, with energy. It is an unpredictable sound, not defined, with no form but yet, instantly recognisable and very clear in the heads of most. We know what it is, and it is also ambiguous. Crunch is an event about possibility, openness and what can happen when people and art come together.

The Show

Crunch is a group show with a focus on inclusivity, diversity, and acceptance, and the idea of dialogue in and between artwork and artists. The doors will be open to anyone to contribute - the idea is to create a fluent, ambiguous space of growth and inclusivity.

The brief is open - there is no expectation and all are welcome. The event will feature interdisciplinary visual artists, video games and street art,  bands, musicians, comedians and poets. This will include Multipolyscriptoscribble - a nomadic language arts event with its roots in community and a centrepiece performance poetry and spoken word.

The brief for Crunch is open and any other performance or art of any style is also welcomed, within reasonable boundaries.

The Rules

The only rules are that the work has to be able to come through the door, unless it is intended for outside, and that it should not interfere with the work of other artists, unless previously agreed.

This also applies to the performance events, with reasonable limits on timing (usually 5-10 minutes) and the rule as with physical artwork, that it should not interfere with the work of other artists, unless previously agreed.

The event will be held on March 31st from 2pm. There is a suggested contribution of £10 which is not a barrier to participation but will go towards costs of the event and a contribution to the venue.
