About
Inspired by real and mythological creatures from the Ryedale area, this exciting exhibition pulls together history, archaeology, science and folklore tales perfect for a family day out. There will be hands on art and story-telling activities each Tuesday and Thursday, 11am – 3pm.
2, 4, 9, 11,16,18 and 30 August
23 and 25 August, join Dr Liam Herringshaw from the Fossil Roadshow and Scarborough museums to find out about fascinating fossils!
This special community exhibition organised by independent arts Provider Rosie Barrett for MakeMore Arts and Nunnington Hall features work by artists including Tim Hopgood, Wanda Szajna-Hopgood, Karen Thompson and many local school children.
Visitors are encouraged to create a dragon scale which will be added to the Nunnington Dragon, a huge painted dragon which snakes down the corridor and into one of the exhibition rooms, this artwork will be in a constant change of flux during the exhibition as it is transformed from a black and white outline to a colourful collaboration of visitor contributions.
This project has been developed with funding and support from Arts Council England, Ryedale District Council, Scarborough Museums and Galleries, Fossiliam and the National Trust.
