Whether you’re exploring working with VR/AR/XR, have an idea for an immersive project, or simply want to know more about this exciting medium, this intensive two day workshop will give you the key knowledge you need to start creating.

Immersive technology offers a new medium for artistic expression and exploration. Although it holds huge creative potential, it can be an overwhelming area for artists to move into, particularly for those with a background in traditional media. This event offers artists and creative professionals an unbiased grounding in virtual reality and augmented reality, enabling them to understand the options available and develop their immersive concepts.

About the organisers

This workshop is led by Alex Peckham and Sophie Dixon

Alex is an artist working in both traditional and immersive media. His 2018 work Forever was shown at BDF and Play UK Macedonia. Alex was formerly Technical Lead with artists' group Blast Theory, where he led technical development of a number of multi-award-winning projects including Karen and My One Demand.

Sophie Dixon, Co-founder of Mnemoscene.io, is a visual artist and educator working with film and immersive media. She has exhibited internationally in solo and group shows including at the Turner Contemporary, Margate, and the EYE Film Museum, Amsterdam.
