Join us for a talk by art historian Helena Vilalta about Howardena Pindell, to coincide with Pindell’s exhibition A New Language.
Looking at rarely seen archival materials, Vilalta addresses the relationship between Pindell’s work as an artist, curator and activist.
Please note the exhibition will remain open until 6pm.
HELENA VILALTA
Helena Vilalta is co-pathway Leader of the Masters of Research in Exhibition Studies at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. She is a former editor of Afterall journal and in 2018–19 was a Terra Foundation Predoctoral Research Fellow at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C. She recently completed her PhD thesis at University College London, which focuses on the intersection of conceptual art and feminism in New York in the 1970s.
