About

The Colorsphere series explores the intersection of color and atmosphere in a celebration of our environment. The Los Angeles area with it’s beaches, green trees, cactus and flowering plants provided inspiration to the artist who has a storied history bringing tying abstract expressionism with west coast colorfield. These large scale 8ft works are a testament to the artists enthusiasm and passion for life and blend together her past series together into a new bold body of work.

Celebrating 50 years as a full-time studio artist this year, Susan Moss has exhibited in Museums: LACMA, Skirball, Laguna Art Museum, UCI Buck Museum of California Art, and University of Nevada Lilley Museum of Art. Recent shows include galleries in Florida and Tuscany, Italy. Her paintings have been published by the Getty in “L.A, Rising” and Yale University Press in “The Posen Library of Jewish Culture and Civilization.” The painting Yale published is “Black Forest VIII” from a series of paintings she dedicated to her Grandparents, Edith and Richard Hecht who died of starvation in the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp in Germany. It was a part of the Robert A. Rowan collection. Rowan became a patron of her work in 1977.

bG Gallery specializes in accomplished artists who regularly engage with and traverse traditional art ideologies such as expressive-conceptual, insider-outsider, high-low, figurative-abstract, among many others. bG’s aim is to bring authentic art with elements of human spirit back to the forefront of the contemporary art scene.
