Colin O'Brien: A Retrospective

About

Born in 1940's Clerkenwell, Colin O'Brien started taking photographs at the age of ten. For most of his life he has continued to live and work in the heart of London, and his images reveal a lasting insight into the lives of ordinary people. Some of his early shots show real life drama as they catch the aftermath of traffic accidents, whilst other images depict life as it used to be, with rag and bone men plying their trade and children playing unsupervised in the street. All his photographs show his concern for what is happening to people in the ever changing society in which we live; most of his work could be defined as social documentary.
