City Wise and the Nose is a Reading Aloud performance by Ruth Maclennan. It is an ongoing public art project that seeks to reclaim public space for intellectual exchange through cultivating the pleasures of reading and listening to words read out loud. The intimacy of the act of reading is transposed to the busy thoroughfare of Essex Road.
