Pharos Gallery is a grass roots East End movement that sets itself in opposition to the West End art scene. Pharos is simply made up of artists who want to make art, not commodity.
The metaphor of the lighthouse is the inspiration for the exhibition - a shining beacon amidst the grungey environs of the East London art scene and the clinical walls of the West End.
Darkness and light in all of their various guises are explored in Chiaroscuro, which brings together 17 artists from Pharos Gallery in its inaugural show
