Ima Studio is pleased to present a group exhibition at Gabriel Fine Art gallery in London Waterloo. The exhibition contains work from an international group of emerging artists exhibiting and exploring the definition of identity from their own unique perspectives and then collaboratively creating a new work displayed as an additional artist ‘The Elephant’.
About
Our identity is always on the edge of reinvention. It is partly created from fragments of our likes, dislikes, inner thoughts, and outward actions. It can be created from how we see the world, but also from how it see’s us. As we develop and mature, so can our identities.
In the ‘Chapter 14: Philosophy of the Elephant’ exhibition, the artists are challenging themselves to express their own ideas of personal and social identities and exploring the concept of “I am”.
This exploration is not only through their individual art practices, but also through a collaborative project - The Elephant. This piece will be the forming of a brand new identity from the many individual identities of each of the artists.
The exhibit consists of work by artists LOUISE ANDERSON, PARMINDERJIT BHANGOO, JANE GLENNIE, JEEEUN HONG, SAMANTHA Y. HUANG, KATE KIM, JULIA HYEWON KIM, EDDIE KWEON, JOSHUA LAPENA, SABRINA LI, HYEMI LIM, JUAN OCHOA, RICHARD PACKER, KIRSTY PACKER, IXCHEL PRADA, CRISTINA PRUDENTE, MARIA VESTERINEN, and will also include a collaborative project - THE ELEPHANT by the artists.
