About
Carnival Glass is curated by Archie Franks and brings together seven artists whose works explore alternative histories, including aspects of the Gothic and the carnivalesque. These artists work beyond the remit of modernist orthodoxy, instead mining different cultural and historical tangents.
In Corey Bartle-Sanderson’s first solo show HOMEWARE_update the work probes ideas relating to duplicity and artifice using sculpture, installation and photography. Combining objects and images that have been found or painstakingly handcrafted, Bartle-Sanderson challenges our perception of the everyday whilst striking a balance between the surreal and the real.
