Community Centre CCC, a day of exploration of kinship and community making
About
The CAMPerVAN Collective Presents: Community Centre, a day of exploration of kinship and community making, including collaborative performance development, storytelling in response to Donna Haraway’s Staying with the Trouble, the UK premiere of the Queer CAMPerVAN docu-series plus Q&A and a final performance.CAMPerVan (UK) is a multidisciplinary performance collective that use a modified campervan as a nomadic space for queer performance. The collective consists of performers Zoe Marden, Samuel Douek and Fiontán Bleau. The project was created as a response to the closing of many queer venues across London in recent years and provides free and accessible performance art, community workshops and film screeningsto different locations, most recently touring European cities. https://queercampervan.tumblr.com/
Part of our Queer Futures public programme and exhibition.
Queer Futures is a public programme of events and exhibition exploring narratives for queer resistance, from mythology and folklore to speculative science fiction. The programme will include performances, screenings, discussions and workshops and each event will leave a contribution in the space to form a gradually expanding archive.
This event is free and open to everyone.
