Two boys' lives are changed forever, as their friendship and loyalty are blown apart by fear and betrayal. Set during the Mau Mau uprising in 1950's Kenya and the ensuing bloody State of Emergency, Burn my Heart examines themes of terror, division, and freedom.
Drawing on African music and movement styles, combined with a powerful mix of text and physical story-telling theatre, Burn My Heart is a fast-paced, devastating, and highly relevant story.
Burn My Heart is based on the novel by award winning author Beverley Naidoo and adapted by playwright Rina Vergano.
