The exhibition will present two films by Bruce Conner. For his thirteen-minute short film, REPORT (1963-67), Conner collaged newsreel footage and radio tapes of President Kennedy's assassination to portray the painful, energetic, and strange tragedy of that day as negotiated by mass media. The second film on view, MARILYN TIMES FIVE (1968-1973) plays to the tune "I'm Through with Love"-sung by Marilyn Monroe i the film Some Like It Hot. As the song repeats five times, the film splices recursive clips from the 1948 girlie film, The Apple-Knockers and the Coke.
