Breaking Through - Pre-Degree Summer Show

Taking over the South West’s first ever dedicated Pre-degree campus, students aged 16-19 from our UAL Extended Diploma programmes will transform Palace Court's open-plan studios into a lively gallery space, showcasing art, design and digital media.

This is the first time final year students from our pre-degree programme have hosted an end-of-year showcase in their own devoted studios, offering a significant opportunity for the public to peek into life at our energetic art school, in the historic surroundings of Plymouth's Barbican. Programmes on exhibition include Art & Design, Fashion & Textiles, Graphics Illustration & Game Arts, and Photography – each with a unique creative perspective to enjoy.

As students on the pre-degree programme celebrate the culmination of two years intensive experimentation and personal development, guests can enjoy a diverse collection of cross-collaborative artwork, conceptual thinking and impressive technique.

Mixed media artwork on display will include installation, sculpture, garment construction, printmaking, web graphics and much more. So join us in applauding student achievement as a new generation of artists, designers and makers take the bold leap into undergraduate study and commercial success. The next big thing could be on your doorstep!

Entry is free and open to the public!

Prior to the public opening on Friday 23 June a live fashion presentation from UAL Extended Diploma Fashion & Textiles will take place at 3pm titled "Dreams". If you're particularly interested in styling and materials why not sign up for an exclusive preview of this year's pre-degree collections, and a chance to discuss their work.
