In their performances, the Georgian collective Bouillon Group reference the multifaceted culture of their home country as well as the reality of life in post-Soviet Georgia, often adopting a critical perspective when doing so. With their explicitly performative approach they focus on transcending the boundaries between life and art. It is particularly by drawing on regional traditions and transferring them artistically into new contexts that Bouillon Group reveals many historical and social levels of meaning.
Alongside the documentation of a selection of past projects, all three performances of the Social Aerobics trilogy will be presented live for the first time within the framework of the exhibition.
Bouillon by Bouillon is the first comprehensive solo show by the collective in a German- speaking country.
