Frik, pedant, schoolvos' is the first issue of the new periodical ''t Verzetje' in which various aspects of art education will be pondered.
About
The editors of this issue, Sébastien Conard, Jan Op de Beeck, Frank Vande Veire en Erwin Wittevrongel, say this:"'Frik, pedant, schoolvos' collects a number of essays, text fragments and images into a particular approach to various aspects of teaching and the teaching profession. Looking back over the editing process, we could put it this way: what better place to start than ourselves, our singular view of teaching, the insights into teaching developed by each of us art teachers over the years?"
This issue will be presented on Thursday 21 March 2019 within the context of BOEKS 03 (22 March – 10 May). The visual artist and art teacher Joris De Rycke will take care of the scenography and the design of this third edition of BOEKS. De Rycke gives us his personal interpretation of the publication in the form of painted and silk-screened text and image panels. Text and image are split into two series and play with the direction of reading and of walking the corridor.
On the occasion of this presentation, BOEKS will form its own reading group and editorial staff, which will seek dialogue on the theme of art education. During the course of the exhibition, the editorial staff will meet behind the scenes of the BOEKS corridor and compile a complementary collection of texts based on the contributions. At the end of BOEKS 03, the meetings will lead to a first collective reading moment (30/05/19), a film night at KASKcinema (09/05/19) and a new collection of texts.
