BLOODLINES

About

This exhibition is devoted to memory where the artist is reworking old family photographs containing a dear and long missed face, the face of her mother. It consists of 9 drawings and one painting. Through the reworking of these images Katya Kvasova explores this familiar face and an unfamiliar past, and contemplates the complexities of identity and belonging. There is an element of tactile memory that the artist experienced while working on this series. They are simple and honest and yet contain so much.
