About
Showcasing paintings on canvas and works on paper, Behind Closed Doors is a solo exhibition of recent work by Samuel Eyles. The show consists of a series of audacious and often claustrophobic narratives based on life events that explore both humour and tension. Deriving from varied starting points, each piece has it’s own dialogue but all follow a very particular tone. By exposing these privately encapsulated moments to the viewer, Eyles aims to uncover the raw emotional states of his subjects and invites us to reflect on our own anxieties and desires.
Samuel Eyles was born in Bath and recently graduated from The Cass School of Art. His work has been featured in the Guardian and he has shown in selected group shows across London.
