Battersea based Landscape Painter Luke M. Walker is proud to announce his first solo exhibition at Acquire Arts, 155 Battersea Park Road, from 22nd-27th October 2009.
Luke, a qualified Interior & Spatial Designer, has been painting, exhibiting and selling landscapes, mainly in Oils for twenty years, but has recently chosen to focus on Painting as an expression of how he interprets the world around him.
As an accomplished climber and mountaineer, Luke has travelled extensively around the high places of Britain, Europe and the Himalayas, and this has influenced much of his work.
His love for the built environment has also played a huge role in recent pieces, which explore the negative spaces, and dark corners of the world, both inside and outside. A recent series of paintings, based on a trips to China and India demonstrate this.
More recently, Luke has returned very much to his home, and to Battersea in particular, with several paintings of the river, the Power Station, and just local vista's which play a part in his every day journeys around the borough.
