To coincide with the closing of Dominic From Luton’s 'English Man Going Insane', artist Ashley Holmes will be presenting a new audio-visual performance.
About
'Ask About The Good Times' is a 32 minute, single-channel film, which examines cultural iconography and perceived success. Holmes presents every black footballer to have represented the English national team in a montage that chronicles the individual and collective anger, elation and violence which are part of modern professional football. The film will be set to a live soundtrack of Holmes’ own productions, field recordings and music that reflects on the nuances of the positions assumed in confrontational encounters.
English Man Going Insane is organised by Departure Lounge in collaboration with Luton Culture and is part of 'As You Change, So Do I' a three-year programme of public art events funded by Arts Council England’s Luton Investment Programme.
