To coincide with the launch of the new Jerwood Visual Arts website JVA will be hosting a special gallery event at Jerwood Space, London, exploring the relationship between visual artists and the web: how artists navigate this vast network; promote themselves, their work and exhibitions.
The internet is a huge resource; a space to gain knowledge, to feedback and comments, review and exhibit. We express opinion s, create conversations, forge networks and showcase new works and ideas. New media and the ease of digital technology has fuelled the volume of content available on the internet to us and with the recent boom in mobile technology the internet has opened up new levels of communication and access to information.
Taking part will be:
Charlie Woolley, artist
Stuart Semple, artist and arts blogger
Sheila McGregor, Axis web
James Smith (chair), editor of online contemporary art magazine, This Is Tomorrow
Events are free but should be booked in advance.
