Artist Talk with KALEID Editions

East London Printmakers
London, United Kingdom
Free
Next up in our Artist Talk Series 2015 we’ll be welcoming Oscar Eaton back to the studio. Oscar completed a residency at East London Printmakers at the end of last year.
During his residency at ELP, Oscar Eaton produced a series of zinc plate etchings focusing on the heroic age of exploration at the turn of the 20th century.
Oscar has been searching the Royal Geographic Society’s photographic archives and isolating imagery from the original footage of Scott and Shackleton’s South Pole expeditions to gain source material from which to work. He has also been collection imagery from Mallory and Irvine’s 1924 Everest expedition and is beginning to work with footage from the Apollo 11 moon landing.
On 24th March, Oscar will be discussing his work, research, process and his residency at ELP. It’s free so come along from 7.30pm!
