About
Oreet Ashery is a transdisciplinary visual artist engaged with bio/political fiction, gender materiality and potential communities. Her practice manifests through distinct multiplatform projects and spans live situations and performances, still & moving image, fibers, writing and assemblages. The work turns to areas such as costume & banners, music, sound, education, distribution, research and activism. In 2017 she was the winner of the Jarman Film Award 2017, looking at digital death, memory as identity and feminist art reincarnations.
Oreet has been invited to talk about her work by The Ultras, who are a group of twelve female artists within ESP. The Ultras supports a new group of womxn each year, creating space for dialogue, development, care and empowerment.
