The third in a series of three discussions by artists, writers and curators working with contemporary photography, devised by Photoworks and the University of Brighton and open to all. The current series focuses on the nature and use of objects within the representational space of the photographic image.”¨â€¨ Since the early 1990s David Spero has worked on interconnected photography projects. In his ongoing series Ball Photographs, begun in 2001, the artist introduces ‘three dimensional constellations'; coloured rubber balls of different sizes placed into existing and often transitory locations. These planes disrupt, transform and map new connections and patterns in the spaces represented in the resulting photographs.
