#besmartaboutart networking is a monthly opportunity to meet artists, curators & other peers, taking place at different galleries

About

#besmartaboutart networking is a monthly opportunity to meet artists, curators & other peers, to view exhibitions and spaces, and to expand knowledge - creative and professional alike.

To kick-off the 2017 year, we're heading to Nicolas Laborie's solo photography exhibition 'Tin Tribes in the Garden of Ether'. This includes a talk with the artist, interviewed by BSAA Founder and Art World Entrepreneur Susan Mumford. Nicolas will provide insight into the wet plate photographic process as well as his journey in the art world. This will be followed by a short talk 'The Art World in 2017' that will invite audience participation and questions, facilitated by Susan. She'll be highlighting the artist-gallerist working relationship and getting sponsorship for art events.

About the Exhibition:

Tin Tribes in the Garden of Ether presents a selection of unique photographs looking at a number of different subcultures, where style and fashion play an important part, be it for political reasons, issues of freedom, resistance, gender equality or self-expression against the norm and society.

Nicolas is launching a limited edition hardback book of the same title, which presents his photographs and includes a foreword by Artist and Art Historian, Armando Alemdar Ara as well as a conversation with Deputy Editor and Arts Writer at State Magazaine, Anna McNay.

The A4 portrait hardback book has a black linen, embossed cover and includes 49 wet plate collodion photographs and is a limited edition of 70.

Collectors Box available - includes hardback book, limited edition stamped and signed print on Hahnemühle German etching paper.
