Pallas Projects/Studios are delighted to announce our latest fundraising auction of Irish contemporary art which runs now until the 11th May. Bidding this year will take place entirely online and is kindly supported by deVeres auction house, who are foregoing all fees in support of our organisation, and to encourage and support a new generation of contemporary artists. Bidding is now live!

While prospective bidders can register, view and bid on work with ease on their phones or tablets, the artworks themselves can still be viewed in the real, with daily viewings taking place at the Irish Georgian Society’s City Assembly House on South William Street from Saturday 6th May.

A gala event will also take place as the bids close on the evening of Thursday 11th May, with actor Bryan Quinn as master of ceremonies. As ever it is to be an entertaining spectacle in the grandeur of the octagonal room in the City Assembly House, with art, pop-up food, drinks from Teeling Whiskey and Galway Bay craft brewery, music and spot prizes, where attendees can cheer on final bids as they come in live on the big screen. The closing event is open to all artists, supporters, onlookers, dedicated bidders (or those who might be tempted on the night) to watch the proceedings unfold. Price of entry is the cost of a couple of raffle tickets, and all are welcome!

The fundraiser, the fourth Pallas Projects/Studios have run since 2014, will help the cutting-edge arts organisation continue their mission to support grassroots arts initiatives, emerging artists and maintaining artists studios in the city. Featuring over 80 Irish contemporary artists, it will demonstrate the strength and breadth of Irish contemporary art from the best emerging talent, to internationally-established artists who are already selling work through the leading Irish contemporary and international galleries and art-fairs (Frieze, Art Basel), exhibiting at home in museums (IMMA, The Hugh Lane), and far and wide in art biennales (Venice Biennale) and international institutions.

This exciting collaboration between the auction house and the artist-run space will introduce fresh Irish contemporary art – including painting, print, photography and sculpture – with the chance to secure a choice piece by a major Irish artist, or to grab a bargain by a future prospect. It offers something for both seasoned auction-goers, and for budding collectors – to enjoy the auction experience for the first time, and start a collection of their own with a unique artwork.
