After a successful debut, Making Art Work will be returning with the indoor ART MARKET in Maidstone on Saturday the 17th of September 2016, 9am-4pm. Loosely inspired by the success of “The Art Car Boot Fair”, the ART MARKET event will be held in the historic agricultural hall in the heart of the busy market place.

The first Art Market attracted in excess of 1500 visitors with over 85 stalls featuring contemporary artists, who have exhibited nationally and internationally from across Kent and the South East. It’s not surprising that Making Art Work decided to host the event again, after artists confirmed that the event had created the perfect platform to sell work directly, secure commissions and course bookings, and in some cases artists being signed up by galleries, as well as creating great networking opportunities.

The programme will include music from local bands, performance art and demonstrations from artists. In addition, famous artist, non-artists and celebrities have been have been invited to create paintings on the day, or donate pieces of work. These works will be auctioned to help raise funds for the charities MIND and the Foundling Museum, both of which do great work and have strong associations with art.
