On the 10th April, The Brick Lane Gallery will be hosting NEW WORLD as part of our regular Art in Mind series for emerging and contemporary artists. With our youngest ever partici-pant in Art in Mind, we look forward to street art investigations by the talented 16 year old Solo, from Lancashire. The exhibition will also feature the works of Kaan Bagci who fuses illustration, graphics and fine art to create his very polished and mapped out compositions, with a fine-tuned geometric feel. Marietta Rohrer will be showing us another side to âhy-brid' art with her paintings, which evoke images of cell structures, winding lanes and amor-phous forms. Her soft and organic grey and green colour palette emphasise Rohrer's refer-ence to nature.
NEW WORLD will include works by Mia-Jane Harris's curious, fascinatingly odd, and mor-bidly beautiful taxidermy. Harris' works are sure to intrigue viewers, pulling them into her world with strange objects, and morbid curios, to manipulate peoples' emotions on the sub-ject of mortality, life, death, and resurrection. Rien Doorn will be exhibiting his extremely detailed and intricate illustrations. Some of his works will follow in Harris's animal subject matter and darker take on life. Hillary Ellis will be showing her vast works where earthy tones and subtle details can be found. The exhibition will also include the vigorous and ex-pressive works of PAZ; and Martyn Thompson blurring the lines between photography and painting in his varied domestically set archival prints.
Art in Mind | NEW WORLD is a free exhibition and open to all. It promises a range of works which represent the best of contemporary and emerging painters from the UK and overseas.
You are invited to join us for a glass of wine on the opening night Wednesday 10 April 6 pm 8.30pm
