Opening at Lazy Susan Gallery on the Lower East Side, ANXIETY DESCENDING is a solo exhibition of bright, feverish painting and mixed media art by Bree Chapin.

About

Pop-neurotic and often apocalyptic in tone— the work of Bree Chapin channels existential dread and extrinsic anxieties through the use of bright, aggressive colors and fevered imagery.

This exhibition reflects back a panicked world of unflinching smiles, capital worship, incoherence, and an unrelenting sense of impending doom. Creation is an act of exorcism for the artist, who must "paint to keep from screaming."
