Dancer and choreographer Andros Zins-Browne performs 'Already Unmade' (2016–ongoing) across the ICA’s public spaces.

About

The work is conceived as a ‘rehearsal’, with Zins-Browne remixing, overlapping, extending and warping his repertoire in an attempt to ‘unmake’ a personal history of choreography. Taking his existing works as ‘choreographic objects’, he unravels them in movement and fragmented dialogue with the public.

This event is programmed as part of Image Behaviour, the ICA’s annual convening dedicated to experiments in artists’ moving image, considering the intersectional, cross-disciplinary possibilities of the medium.

Andros Zins-Browne (b. 1981, New York) lives and works in New York and Brussels. Zins-Browne’s performances have been presented at Centre Pompidou, Paris; DeSingel, Antwerp; EMPAC Troy, HAU, Berlin; ICA, London; Kaaitheater, Brussels; MDT, Stockholm; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam and the Impulse Festival, where he received a Goethe Institute Award for The Host. His solo project Already Unmade was commissioned by the Boghossian Foundation, and has recently been performed at BOZAR Museum, Brussels; The Whitney Museum, New York City; the Rockbund Museum, Shanghai; and Fondation Galeries Lafayette, Paris. He recently completed two collaborative performances with Will Rawls, The Tony Cokes Remixes for the 10th Berlin Biennial, and See-Saw an original reinterpretation of Simone Forti’s piece in the Judson Dance exhibition at MoMA, New York. Atlas Unlimited, his collaboration with visual artist Karthik Pandian has been presented in Belgium and Chicago and recently opened at 80WSE gallery in New York City.
