Andrea Humphries’ new work is inspired by the V&A’s ceramic collection. Painted or collaged still lives of bowls and vases standing quietly alone, calm and serene. Complex patterns and textures revealing simple forms.
About
Still life is a recurring theme in Andrea’s work. Bowls and vases stand quietly alone. The objects are calm and serene, complex patterns and textures reveal simple forms. Andrea’s new work is inspired by the ceramic collection at the V&A and ‘Paintings & Collages’ will focus on the tactile, hand-made ceramics, often made for domestic use. Andrea is attracted to these objects because they are ephemeral and functional. She likes to find beauty in the ordinary.
Please join us at the Walthamstow Village Window Gallery for the Preview evening Friday 3 June, 7-9pm. FREE entry for all, with music and a bar. The show then continues daily until 26 June.
