About
‘Edo to Now: 400 Years of Japanese Art’ brings together a selection of fine Japanese art from the 17th century to the present day. Including woodblock prints by artists Utagawa Hiroshige, Utagawa Kunisada and Totoya Hokkei, as well as beautiful folding screens, fine lacquer from a private collection, and contemporary paintings. A highlight of the exhibition is a masterpiece by Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) – ‘Rainstorm beneath the Summit’, a woodblock print from the iconic series ‘Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji’.
