About
This session will set you on the road to successful painting, in all mediums.
We will use oil paint; a great favourite with artists throughout the ages and a good starting point for new painters, as it allows for revisions and changes, which is useful for both beginners and developing artists.
This is a fun, informative and active session for anyone who fancies the idea of painting but isn't sure where to begin.
All materials provided, alongside tea and coffee. You are welcome to bring lunch or purchase from our cafe partners Lily & Lime LD.
About the artist
Kim Whitby graduated from Aberystwyth University's School of Art with a Fine Art MA in December 2014. Previously, she received a BEd Hons in Art from King Alfred's College Winchester, that saw her pursue a career in primary education.
In 2016 Whitby won the London Pintar Rapido plein air painting competition, and became a finalist on ‘Sky Art’s Landscape Artist of the Year’. She has also been identified as an 'Artist To Watch’ by Artists and Illustrators magazine. The artist is also currently completing a commission with Hampshire Cultural Trust and the Jane Austen House Museum.
