An Insider's Tour of The Other Art Fair

Arrivals 11.30-11.45am

The tour will commence at the entrance to the fair. Susan along with a representative from the fair will give an introduction to The Other Art Fair and the group will have an open discussion about the functioning of artist fairs. 

This will be followed by a 1hr tour which will concentrate on six artists and their booths to illustrate best practices of artists exhibiting at artist fairs. You will hear from the artists or their representatives to gain an insight into their professional and creative practices. 

At the end of the tour everyone will have an opportuniy to contribute to a closing discussion. 

Areas to be covered include:

• What curatorial styles in combination with stand layout draw in visitors to stop and look?
• What can be done to improve engagement with visitors?
• What kinds of materials are helpful to have on display? 
• What are exhibitors doing to expand their client bases during the event?

The Be Smart About Art Best Booth Award:

Official tour participants will be invited to vote!

Of the 6 artists whose booths will be selected for the tour, there will be one winner. Paticipants will be asked to vote with a consideration of professional standards. 

The BSAA Certificate will be given to the winning artist on the day.
