This year’s programme seeks to address our era of rising conservatism through new commissions and specially adapted works that look to question the politics of display and censorship. Through spoken word, choreography, music, video and sound-based practices, the programme will highlight the importance of alternative subcultures and London nightlife in finding new forms of resistance and creating spaces for freedom of expression.
The presentation will include major new commissions from Jimmy Robert and Hannah Perry; performance by collaborative duo FlucT; a new iteration of ‘The Wave Epoch’ by collaborators Haroon Mirza, Jack Jelfs and GAIKA; new spoken-word from Kai-Isaiah Jamal and an excerpt from Marijke de Roover’s new opera on pop culture.
Free tickets for ‘An Evening of Performances’ will be released on Eventbrite early September. This event will take place at Ministry of Sound, 103 Gaunt St, London SE1 6DP from 7.30pm - 2am.
