A virtual exhibition and short film of the emerging artist Christian Amaya

About

NEW YORK CITY, NY - November 20, 2020 – The Grady Alexis Gallery at El Taller Latino Americano is pleased to announce an on-line exhibition and event, AMAYA. Christian Amaya, is a NYC-based visual artist. He expresses his ideas and emotions through paintings and drawings. The exhibition, featuring Amaya’s paintings and a short film about his process and thoughts, is “live” on December 4, 2020. The works are on view from December 4, 2020 - January 30, 2021  on the gallery webpage: www.tallerlatino.org/current-exhibit

This time presents challenges and opportunities to engage and it is forcing different ways of presenting art, in absence of walls. We are in a moment of reflection as we face these complexities. Christian Amaya’s work is notable as salient example for the possibility of what can come from a time of reflection. He’s made a fusion of a bi-cultural, dual-linguistic home. These are among a diverse set of influences that emanate from his paintings and drawings that express a narrative voice that is searching through intuition and emotion. “I want my art to inspire a generation of kids to learn that it is possible to express yourself without words.”

El Taller Latino Americano’s Grady Alexis gallery is committed to its mission to present compelling programs that use creativity to dispel fear and mistrust. This is the forth virtual gallery. Please visit out past galleries via https://tallerlatino.org/exhibitions . These exhibitions include: “The Art of the Brain”; “Spring 2020”; “Grady Alexis” (to learn about the the gallery namesake, who was tragically killed on NYC’s streets)
