To complement the exhibition Alternative 23, IMT Gallery will host a gallery talk with artist Richard Squires and the exhibition’s curator Mark Jackson, chaired by curator Nicole Sansone.
About
The artists in the exhibition are linked through having all used variations on the comic as form or medium in their previous work, and the talk will consider the exhibition through this connection.
Richard Squires is a founder member of the comic art project Let Me Feel Your Finger First. As well as exhibiting in Alternative 23, Let Me Feel Your Finger First also recently appeared in the Comics Unmasked exhibition at the British Library.
Mark Jackson is a curator at IMT Gallery and also at Gallery North, Newcastle, to which the exhibition will tour in February 2015.
Nicole Sansone recently joined IMT Gallery as a curator. She is also a PhD researcher at Goldsmiths’ Centre for Cultural Studies and editor at Fungiculture Journal.
